What is the BJA?
The British Judo Association (BJA) is the national governing body for judo in the United Kingdom. It oversees and promotes the sport of judo at various levels, including grassroots, clubs, and national competitions. The BJA is responsible for organizing events, coaching certifications, and ensuring that judo is practiced in a safe and inclusive environment across the country.
Reasons for Joining
Joining the BJA is optional! Whilst many aspects of Judo do require a BJA membership, attending Bushido Judo Club isn't one of them.

Here are some of the key reasons why joining would benefit you
1 / Grading
If you would like to start down the path of achieving 'Grades' within Judo, you will need a membership. These grades are internationally recognised and follow a set curriculum, defined by the BJA
2 / Competitions
Whilst some local competitions may be available without one, the majority are overseen by the BJA and require an active membership to participate

Please note, the 'Judo Kids' package does not include competitions and a full membership will be required
3 / Insurance
It's a side of sports that we all hope we never need but insurance is an important one. Membership will cover you for Personal Accidents and Public Liability. For more detail, click here
